Colonel KENNETH F. L. KLOCK

Col. Kenneth Klock is the Commander, Space Base Delta 1, headquartered at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. As Commander, he leads a 3,700-member team providing Base Operating Support to more than 18,400 military, Department of Defense civilians and contractor personnel serving at 23 operating locations worldwide. These personnel execute critical U.S. Space Force missions including offensive and defensive space operations; missile warning; space domain awareness; positioning, navigation, and timing; satellite communications; electronic warfare; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; and cyberspace operations. 

Col. Klock commissioned into the Army through the ROTC program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida in 1990. He deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM in 2004 as the Battle Major for Multi-National Force-Iraq. In 2006, he became an Army Space Operations Officer.  He deployed again in 2008 as the Army Space Support Team Leader for the XVIII Airborne Corps/Multi-National Corps-Iraq, in Baghdad, Iraq. His staff assignments include positions at U.S. Army North (5th Army), U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Joint Force Space Component Command, and U.S. Space Command. On June 28, 2022, he transferred to the United States Space Force. Prior to his current position, Col. Klock was the Commandant of the National Security Space Institute, Peterson SFB, Colo.
